A glimpse of Idols in Palakol Vinayaka Chavithi Pandals
Palakol is a temple town in West Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh. It has a long tradition of religious festivals and related rituals. Vinayaka Chavithi is one such festival that is enthusiastically observed.
Temporary mandirs are erected in several places of the town and beautiful, big, myriad shapes of Vinakaya Pratimas (idols) are installed. Every morning and evening pujas are performed with devoted fervor during the nine days of festivities. On the last day, the idols are ceremoniously immersed in water.
